Filling:
5 apples of choice, peeled and chopped
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
Coating:
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375.
In a bowl to create filling, add in chopped apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice and maple syrup. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, add in flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well. Add in cold butter and create a crumbly mixture with a pastry cutter or a fork.
In a 8x8 baking dish, pour in filling, and add coating on top.
Bake for 30 minutes. Increase heat to 450 and bake for another 5 minutes.
Cut into squares and enjoy!
